It's more expensive because of the ingredients in the alloy. This alloy is used in high efficient gas applications where high corrosive conditions exist. This alloy is also used and is very effective with corn applications; however, OLYMPIA does not extend the forever warranty to corn applications. Some heating appliance manufacturers encourage the use of this specific alloy in their installation instructions.
